Marketing Lessons From a Good Southern Mother

I'm from the South and I had a good southern mother. IYKYK.
My purse and handbag always matched, I didn't wear white after Labor Day, and I called every adult sir or ma'am.
I will admit that I've let many of my Mom's lessons go by the wayside, but here are 6 lessons I learned from my mother that apply to your social media.

1. Never air your dirty laundry in public. "Being yourself" doesn't mean rants and public tantrums. Keep your social media image authentic, but nice.
2. Patience is a virtue. It's not going to happen overnight. Skip the Cinderella Challenges and other spammy content and build real relationships.
3. Share with your sisters. Be generous with your talents and lift up other business owners. Share reviews of other's products and refer your followers to products and services you love. Practice abundance.
4. Listen more than you talk. No posting and ghosting, my friends, go engage with people.
5. You never get a second chance to make a first impression. Check out the profiles on your business page, Facebook group, and Instagram. Is it all about YOU or does it tell your followers what's in it for them? What value do you provide (and no, that's not your products)
6. Always say "Thank You".

What manners did your mother drill into you?
